Masterfoods Uncle Ben's Kan Tong DOLMIO

Chick Pea Stew

Preparation time - 15 minutes
Cooking time - 45 minutes
Serves - 12

Ingredients

Olive oil 1 tablespoon Whole chopped onions 2 MASTERFOODS Freshly Chopped Garlic 1 tablespoon Whole tomatoes 800g DOLMIO Pesto Sun-Dried Tomato 2 tablespoons MASTERFOODS Ground Paprika 1 tablespoon MASTERFOODS Bay Leaves 2 Whole diced potatoes 4 Cups water 4 MASTERFOODS Sea Salt, ground 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme Leaves 2 teaspoons Fresh Marjoram Leaves 2 teaspoons MASTERFOODS Chick Peas, drained 2.6kg MASTERFOODS Black Pepper Ground 1 teaspoon MASTERFOODS Mexican Chilli Powder 1 teaspoon

Method

  1. In a heavy bottomed casserole dish, heat the olive oil.
  2. Sauté the onion and MASTERFOODS Freshly Chopped Garlic over medium-low heat until the onion is tender.
  3. Add the tomatoes, DOLMIO Pesto Sun-Dried Tomato, MASTERFOODS Ground Paprika and MASTERFOODS Bay Leaves.
  4. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the potatoes, water, MASTERFOODS Sea Salt, fresh thyme leaves, fresh marjoram leaves and MASTERFOODS Chick Peas (drained).
  6. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat.
  7. Cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
  8. Add plenty of MASTERFOODS Black Pepper Ground and MASTERFOODS Mexican Chilli Powder to taste.

Tip: Serve with crusty bread.
